Bees keep swarming help!
Good evening,
I am new to beekeeping and was hoping to get some advice as I am having issues with my bees swarming and I’m not too sure what to do/ what I am doing wrong.
A brief timeline of events.

Does the club own any vaporising equipment so we can treat for varroa?
Bookings for all of our courses for 2026 are now open on the Training page.
We also have a couple of events with bookings or RSVPs available on the Events page - the next Winter Workshop on 25 July is dedicated to hive maintenance, and we have our first visit to members' hives in September.
There will be one more Winter Workshop in August (making more wax products) before regular apiary days start again in September.
For the monthly meeting this Wednesday VP Charlie will present "Flower power, and no bad bees". The talk provides a brief introduction to pollination biology as background to Australia's recently released National Pollination Strategy and the impact of varroa, and addresses the coexistence of European honey bees and our native bees, with suggestions for how we can keep bees responsibly.
Martina will also present the swarm log data from last year's bumper season. If you caught/had a swarm and haven't yet logged it, you can do so by emailing cbrbeecollective@gmail.com or visiting https://www.cbrbc.com.au/swarmlog
We'll once again have tea and bickies as we minhgle after the talks, and the library will be open for loans.
See you there!
Yes the club has a vapouriser but it is not part of the equipment for loan to club members. The prinicpal reason for this is that good quality respiratory masks are required from an OH&S point of view and these require decontamination if they are to be shared. We don't have a failsafe system to do this currently.
